OUR STORY
Graze San Diego began as a grassroots San Diego community exploring the benefits to the land and community of grazing sheep and goats in 2018, focusing on prescribed grazing as an eco-friendly fire fuel reduction & vegetation management tool.
Vegetation management in San Diego has been limited three options, "mow land, burn land or poison land" all three methods fight against nature, prescribed grazing works with nature. We are not advocating that prescribed grazing be the only vegetation management tool, but be the preferred method where appropriate.
Inspired by a recognized empowered collection of leaders, with the goal of creating community supported grazing programs throughout the state of California—engaging with more and more people, adding more and more supporters, and amplifying more and more voices, at the local, county and state levels.
Graze San Diego leads the campaign to integrate grazing into our communities long term land management strategies. We challenge the notion that the way things are is the way things should always be, and are proud to be a force for positive transformation.

About Our Founder
Graze San Diego was founded by Deborah Leone, a seasoned real estate professional with decades of experience helping families, investors, and communities thrive. Her journey in real estate began at 24, and over the years she has built a career marked by creativity, resilience, and a deep commitment to solving complex challenges with care. From managing billion-dollar mortgage portfolios to guiding first-time buyers, her work has always centered on creating value and building lasting relationships.
Inspired by her late brother Patrick and fueled by her love for animals and community, she envisioned Graze San Diego as a way to bring meaningful impact beyond real estate. By blending her professional success with her passion for stewardship and fire prevention, she launched Graze San Diego to protect homes, lower wildfire risks, and build a more sustainable future for San Diego communities. Today, her dual dedication—to her clients in real estate and to the mission of Graze—reflects her belief that every challenge has a solution, and every connection can spark lasting change.
